Porsche’s new model ‘Macan’ is considered to be the little brother of the Porsche Cayenne and is intended to follow its success. The name of the Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for Tiger.
According to Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG: “The Macan combines all sports car characteristics with the benefits of a SUV and is a genuine Porsche”.
Although much of the electronics come from Audi the significant differences lie in the high-quality features and the coupé-styled body. The Macan comes in three versions: as Macan S with 340 hp, as S-Diesel with 245 hp and as Turbo S with 400 hp. At a starting price of 47.000€ the Macan will be one of Porsche’s cheapest models.
