The Sony SRS-XB3 is a stylish and water resistant wireless audio speaker with approximately 24 hours battery life on offer. Plus oomph.
When things are busy and you are on the move, at home or simply in need of some music in the room, Sony have got you covered. We just got the SRS-XB3 to play with and heres what we think of it.
Inside this colourful music box, you have two 48mm full range loudspeakers and two passive radiators. With the “Extra Bass” button, you are able to pump up the low end for that party feeling. Switch it on and the portable speaker fills the whole room with audio. Surprisingly loud for its size, the sound quality is also impressive thanks to the well made components. The SRS-XB3 can be used in almost every instance; Whilst dining, relaxing at home or simply to enjoy the party with friends.
Weighing 930g, you have a portable sized unit that is water resistant and extremely durable. The rubber and plastic enclosure make sure it can survive the rough and tumble of every day use so switch it on, enjoy it and let it create the soundtrack to your day.
These speakers are also simple to use with NFC one-touch Bluetooth® but the normal bluetooth pairing process is done within seconds anyway. The interface is simple, offering minimal design and maximum functionality. To most, you may not even require a manual to get it started right out of the box. Thanks to the size, which should be noted is larger then some of it’s competitors, the SRS-XB3 is small enough to pack in to a carry on or take on the road.
We found that with the weight of the device, the driver is able to reproduce great clear bass sounds, nicely rounded trebles and mid frequency but the key is to place it horizontally and on a solid surface to get the best sound. You also get a rather “big” sound for such a small enclosure, being only 3.1 inches tall and 8.3 inches wide with a depth of 3.3 inches you would expect a little less noise, but the speaker delivers.
Take a listen to it in the store of grab one for yourself to try out. More information at Sony.
