Back from the Future x DeLorean Going Back To The Production Line
It is official. The iconic DeLorean DMC-12, that Marty McFly and Doc Brown used to travel through time is going back to the production line.
DeLorean Motor Company announced that they will be restarting production in 2017 to make about 300 replica DMC-12 cars, if enough supplies are in stock. They hope that the first replica will be completed by the beginning of 2017 and want to start building one a month.
It’s been 34 years since the last DeLorean was built and only a total of 8.583 have left the production hall. Now, a recent law change (Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Act) allows smaller companies to produce a limited number of completed replica(r)s, without having to meet the same rules as those which produce millions. Allthough the engine, gearbox, wheels, brakes and suspension will be modern, all other parts will be just like the original.
Prices for a DeLorean DMC-12 Replica will be around $100,000 dollars.
