‘Scarface’ Home El Fureidis on Sale for $35 Million

    13. May 2014

Some of you might remember this stunning property from the movie ‘Scarface‘. Hardly surprising since scenes from the 1983 Al Pacino movie were shot right at this Mediterranean estate. Even though the movie actually takes place in Miami ‘El Fureidis‘ – translated “tropical paradise” – is located in Santa Barbara, California. The 10-acre estate has recently been renovated and is currently up for sale for $35 million.

The house features four bedrooms and nine bathrooms across 10,000 square feet and a roof deck offering views of the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands. Designed by architect Bertram Goodhue for New Yorker James Waldron in the early 1900s the property features both Roman and Middle Eastern influences, such as a Byzantine-style conversation room, a Musician’s balcony overlooking the dining-room and an alcove with an 18-foot-high domed ceiling “decorated with a floral hand painted, gold and blue design in 24k gold-leaf”.
